Very excited to share this news! It has been my dream & goal to be a member of the WGA, Writers Guild of America. There are only about 15,000 members and last year of the top 100 movies only 15% were written by women. For all the people who told me this was an impossible goal, you’re not my people. My people are the ones who have supported me and believed in me and for that I am truly thankful.
Since becoming a member I’ve already signed two WGA movie contracts, without an agent, showing it IS possible if you believe in yourself and don’t accept less than you deserve.
I love what one of the WGA acceptance letters said: “You had about a five times better chance of hearing your name read at the Major League baseball draft this year than of getting this letter. Make sure your parents know that.”
I share this hoping to encourage others to GO FOR IT! Whatever your dream is, find your people, bet on yourself, and make it happen!
